After speaking with my supervisor about my concerns over the number of courses I was planning, I have developed a new structure for the courses! Instead of offering many courses of the same structure on different topics, I am going to create 1 course, covering 4 key topics, presented in 3 different formats. The different formats will be a free PDF download, a free masterclass delivered every few months and a paid-for 4-week individual course. The 4 key topics I have chosen are personal branding, creating content, boosting engagement and finding your target audience.
I decided on this structure because it is a) more realistic for this project, and b) it is more aligned with my aim of making these courses affordable, as one only needs to pay for the 4-week course. I hope that the two free assets will build trust with my audience and increase my credibility, whilst still allowing the clients to delve further if they choose to. Also, these different formats will act as a funnel, with the free PDF reaching a wide range of people, bringing some into the masterclass, and the masterclass bringing some to the paid course.
I will advertise these through my business's social media pages. I've been working to keep these up-to-date and posting content that musicians will find valuable. I've also been using this page to research what other marketing courses are out there and how they're structured, which has helped inform my choices. Many social media marketers offer free PDF downloads on particular topics, so this reassures me that it is a sensible format and brings benefits to personal businesses.
So, in conclusion, things have changed, but this is good! My business model is very iterative, so refining this project as I go fits in with this process. I think the changes I have made make the offer stronger for both the business and the project.
